About

Built by a sparky, not a spreadsheet.

The Estimating Collective was founded by Niall Hoult — an electrician with sixteen years in the trade across New Zealand and Australia, from the tools through to commercial project management and estimating.

Most electrical contractors price work at night, after the day's work is done, against builders who tender everything and consultants who answer nothing. The difference between a business that grows and one that grinds is rarely the quality of the electrical work — it's the quality of the pricing.

That's the gap TEC exists to close. We price commercial and residential tenders for electrical contractors across Australia and New Zealand — full take-off, supplier pricing and a tender-ready package at a fixed fee. The same method is in the estimating course, and the same data discipline is in the pricebooks.

Take-offs are done in industry-standard software by qualified estimators, checked line by line. If a set of drawings doesn't add up, we ask the question before we price it — the way you would.

How we work

  • Trade first

Estimates built by people who have pulled cable, stood in pre-start meetings and carried the cost of getting a price wrong. Not a data-entry service.

  • Fixed fees

You know the cost of the estimate before you commit. No hourly surprises, no scope creep on our side.

  • Tender-ready

What lands on your tracker is ready to go out the door — tender letter, bill of materials, priced cost sheet. Not a pile of numbers to interpret.

  • Your win rate is the product

A pricebook, a course or a tender package only matters if it wins you work at margins you chose. Everything we sell points at that.
